Thai Elephant Conservation

We visited the Thai Elephant Conservation center located in Lampang Thailand, where 50 Asian elephants are cared for. The center has many projects designed to improve the care and wellbeing of Thailand's elephants, including the National Elephant Institute, the Forest Industry Organization, Hospital work, a Mobile Elephant clinic, an Elephant rescue unit and an Elephant care manual. In addition to conservation and care of elephants the Thai Elephant Conservation center (TECC) is the first place in Thailand where elephants have learned to paint, and play in an elephant orchestra! We were able to witness both as you will see in my photos. Not only did we watch a few elephants paint, I now own one of those paintings.
